Serving
Others

Symphony of Toys is a retail
business based on the belief that sharing with others is basic to all
aspects of life. It is important that in our business desire for
profit, we do not lose this perspective. Therefore, this page is
added to the Symphony of Toys website as a reminder.
The following
poem, given to me by Nora Hemsley of Congleton, England, shares the
essence of our compassion and service to others. Nora was a member
of my parish in the United Kingdom and shared love with all she met.
USE WHAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR HANDS
God called Moses and Moses replied,
"What can I do for my Lord
I am only a shepherd, what use am I?"
"Use what you have in your hands," said the Lord
And Moses looked down at the staff in his hands -
"I have only my shepherd's crook."
"Then go out and lead my flock," said the Lord.
And Moses his homeland forsook.
God called Peter, and Peter replied,
"What can I do for my Lord -
"Use what you have in your hands," said the Lord.
And Peter looked down at the net in his hands -
"I have only my fishing net"
"Then go out and fish for men" said the Lord -
So off on this task Peter set.
God called me, and I was surprised -
"What can I do for my Lord?
Such gifts as I have I will gladly use."
"Use what you have in your hands," said the Lord
And I looked down at my empty hands.
Then the Lord filled them with love.
"Now go and share that with your fellowmen,
It's their gift from the Lord above.
